General Now this is what you call a factory!!

Yes quite impressive isnt it! and this is where Europes finest windows and doors are manufactured. It is something we are very proud of indeed. Even in the UK the Trade are not really aware of the shear size of this operation.
Only yesterday we had a customer called to our Blackpool Showroom and had spoken with a local competitor that had told them Weru oh they are just retailers they buy in but we are true specialists because we make our own Locally? Big deal I say... We are proud of what we Import as a fully finished product from Germany and once any customer has a look at our ranges they quickly realise that what is made in Germany is more than a little different from a locally made window or door!! We do not boast that it is made in Germany yes we would be much happier if it was made locally but somehow they just get it right. This area of southern Germany is renowned for the best in engineering excellence with Mercedes and Porche factories only a few Kilometres away.
The unusual name evolves from the initials of the founders way back in 1843. Willem Eppensteiner of RUdersberg Originally involved in timber and glass they were pioneers in mass production of PVCu windows in the sixties and are now world leaders in innovation with the latest technologies in windows and doors.

As Weru Windows (Blackpool) we are proud to be their leading UK partner and our association goes right back to 1985 when we first opened on the Fylde. We offer the full Weru German Range of windows and Doors along with our British Range under the brand which is also approved by Weru themselves.

The New Timber Alternative Stormproof Window & Door Range
Evolution Storm

The new Evolution Storm range offers all the aesthetics of timber, using a simplicity that showcases the excellence in joinery and craftsmanship, coupled with the benefits of modern state-of-the-art technology, improved energy efficiency and greater security features.

Quite simply, the new Storm window range is totally unique and offers you a new stylewithout the expense of window that is both practical and outstanding without the expense and high maintenance of standard timber windows.

The Storm window has been designed to replicate period features that are normally only found with traditional joinery. These features range from the ovalo detailing on the Georgian bars and through the choice of specialist period design ironmongery which further enhances the traditional design. The attention to detail plus the warm and welcoming style ensure your Storm windows will retain their curb appeal and good looks for many years to come.

The Storm range is available in a range of window colour options, plus complementary accessories and glass options - all you need to do is choose which combination is the best choice to suit your home.

With this new innovative range of products, it's no wonder our windows & doors have already been accepted in a World Heritage area as well as a number of conservation areas by local authorities.

Projects Ye Olde World Charm!!

blog image Bespoke Conservatory for Thatched Cottage in Scronkey We are just adding the finishing touches to this superb all year round Conservatory. Another example of how our bespoke ranges lend themselves to almost any architectural challenge. Using our Partner+ Storm casement range in white woodgrain Pvcu. Ultra low U values ensure comfort all year round. Pilkingtom Low E SelfCleanActiv argon filled. The Conservatory is the second phase of our works and we completed the Window and door replacement last year. We do find that this type of niche project keeps us very busy because if the homeowners had chosen one of the multitude of normal PVcu windows this beautiful property may well have been ruined with thousands of pounds written off from its market value. Our niche postion was specifically in Sliding sash windows however it now includes normal casements and conservatories and Orangeries

News Tall Order

Posted on Mon, 03 May 2010 18:34:07 by News Desk

blog image We are currently completing an interesting Project in Colne Lancashire constructing our tallest structure to date. We have a Ground Floor 6 panel 6 metre BiFold @ 2.5 meters High with a Matching 1st floor Bedroom Bifold directly above (with some structural steel work) To top it all we have a 2.1 Metre high Triangular gable Window sitting on top of that! At just under 6.8 Metres High it is absolutely stunning with views over the Pennines. the Door functions perfectly as would be expected and with it being on a hill side the weather ratings are particularly important. watch this space for more photos....

INSTALLATION DIARY A superb example if a quality Glass Room in Lytham

Posted on 24.09.10 12:48 by News Desk

blog image What have we been up to this week then? Quite a few interesting projects in fact... Portal Glass House Project in Ansdell Road North Lytham which forms a Kitchen Extension using our Bespoke Weru Acento BiFolding doors in Anthracite Grey with Glass Roof. This involves a fully structurally Proven Portal Framework which sits of Concrete pads and does not apply extra loading to the actual house walls. Once fully Glazed we completely Remove the dividing wall from the existing house to form the open plan area. To fully comply with Building Regs required very detailed calculations on UValues to minimise Heat loss and if this was too great permission would not be granted.Owing to our super efficient frames and g lazings we only had minimal supplementary benefits to include which are extra insualtion to the existing back wall and extra insulation to existing roof void of the kitchen. This type of project would not have met current building Regs if we had used a typycal PVcu type Conservatory and frames.
We also started another interesting project in Holmfield Close Cleveleys. we are converting a large Garage into an Orangery. We have used our bespoke Engineered Timber Flat deck Roof with Glazed lantern to centre. The project will again use our Acento BiFolding Doors in RAL 9005 Black. Garage Conversions are becoming very popular in creating new Living Areas.
This week also finds us in Birkdale Nr Southport installing windows and Doors in Weru Castello Black Oak (6.4 meter Wide Patio Door
